Quality, steel and how we work

We will be straight with you, because you are going to find out anyway: we are a working manufacturer, not a certified medical device house. We do not hold ISO, CE or FDA registration. What we have is the instrument itself — so judge us on one before you spend real money.

What we are, and what we are not

We do not hold ISO 13485, CE marking or FDA registration. If your business needs a supplier who does, we are not that supplier today and we would rather tell you now than waste your time.

What we are is a family workshop in Sialkot that has been forging, grinding and finishing instruments for 15 years, since 2011, largely for other people's brands. If you are a distributor, a repair shop, a clinic or a salon brand buying instruments on their merits, that is exactly who we are set up to supply.

Judge the instrument, not the website

Any supplier can write "premium surgical grade steel" on a page. It costs nothing and it proves nothing. So here is what we suggest instead, and it is the same thing we would tell a friend:

  • Order one. Not a container, not a carton — one instrument, or a handful.
  • Work the joint. Open and close it fifty times. It should stay smooth and the jaws should keep meeting. Cheap instruments bind or develop play almost immediately.
  • Check the tips under magnification. Serrations should be even and fully cut, not half-formed. Tips should align exactly.
  • Autoclave it several times and look for staining or pitting. That is the honest test of the steel and the passivation.
  • Compare it side by side with whatever you buy now.

If it does not stand up, you have lost the price of one instrument and you will know not to continue. That is a far better test than any claim we could make here.

How an instrument is actually made here

  • Forging — struck from bar stock in dies, not cast. Cast instruments are cheaper and they fail.
  • Milling and grinding — profile, jaw serrations, ratchet and box lock cut to the pattern.
  • Heat treatment — hardened and tempered for the grade and the instrument.
  • Hand finishing — box locks and hinges are set by hand, one at a time. This is the step that decides whether an instrument still closes smoothly in five years.
  • Passivation — acid treatment to remove free iron and build the passive layer that gives stainless steel its corrosion resistance.
  • Final inspection — jaw meet, tip alignment, ratchet engagement, smoothness of action and surface finish, checked by eye and hand on each piece before it is packed.

The steel

We use martensitic stainless steels where an edge or a joint has to hold, and more corrosion-resistant grades where it does not. We will tell you which grade we are using for your item on the quotation. If you specify a particular grade to your own customers, tell us and we will either quote to it or say plainly that we cannot get it.

What we can and cannot give you on paper

We can:

  • State the steel grade we are using for your order, in writing on the quotation
  • Send magnified photographs of the actual instruments before they are dispatched
  • Make a sample first and only run production once you have approved that exact piece
  • Supply a commercial invoice and packing list for customs

We cannot issue certified test reports, notified-body certificates or regulatory registrations. If your customer requires those, you will need them from a certified manufacturer, and we will say so rather than send you something that looks official and is not.

If it is wrong, we replace it

Instruments that do not match the sample you approved are replaced at our cost. Send photographs of what is wrong — we do not make customers argue about it. That promise is worth more to a small buyer than a certificate, because it is the one we can actually keep.

Common questions

Do you have ISO, CE or FDA certification?

No. We do not hold ISO 13485, CE marking or FDA registration. We say so openly. If your business requires a certified supplier, we are not the right supplier for you.

Then why would I buy from you?

Price and flexibility, judged on a sample. We are the factory rather than a trading company, there is no fixed minimum on a trial order, and we can change a pattern without a tooling charge. Order one instrument and decide from there.

What steel do you use?

Martensitic stainless grades where an edge or joint must hold, more corrosion-resistant grades elsewhere. We state the grade for your item on the quotation rather than making a blanket claim.

Can I get a sample before ordering?

Yes, and you should. Samples ship door to door. Work the joint, check the tips under magnification and autoclave it a few times before you commit to a production run.

Can you supply test certificates?

No. We can state the steel grade on the quotation and send magnified photographs of your actual instruments before dispatch, but we cannot issue certified test reports or regulatory documents.

What if the instruments do not match the sample?

They are replaced at our cost. Send us photographs of what is wrong.

Ask us something specific

Send a part number, a photo, a drawing or a competitor's catalogue page. We will tell you straight whether we can make it, what it costs and how long it takes.
